Winnipeg Model Boat Club, Canada

Here are some pics showing the skill of my friends in the Northern Hemisphere.

HMCS Prince Robert, an armed merchant cruiser from WW2.  Another view.

HMCS Sioux, a WW2 "V" Class Destroyer.  In "Dry dock"

Both HMCS Prince Robert and Sioux in convoy.

There is just something peaceful and relaxing about sail.

Now, this is a piece of work.  A German torpedo boat or "Schnellboat" and it's builder, Collin Cassidy.

Here are a couple of the ships that sailed on Lake Winnipeg in the early part of the 20th century on display at the Selkirk Maritime Museum.

A Canadian Coast Guard Nav Tender built by Claude Rivard.  This is his "toy" which he's been building for over 4 years.

Claude builds a lot of his models for the Naval Museum of which he is curator.  This one is of the post war frigate HMCS Assiniboine and this is the WW2 Bangor Class Minesweeper, HMCS Transcona.  Claude's father served on the Transcona during WW2.  The large vessel in the background is a barge tug that serves remote communities in Nunavut, NT.
